Rodrigo D: No Future

Medellin teenager Rodrigo watches as his friends are drawn into the culture of "sicarios," the freelance hitmen and mafia foot-soldiers that made that city synonymous with violence in the early 90s. Rodrigo hates the gang lifestyle and just about everything else his hillside slum has to offer him, except for punk rock. If he could just get that drum kit and get a band together, maybe he'd be all right... This 1990 film was a milestone for independent Latin cinema and one of the best punk movies ever made. It was filmed on location with non-professional local actors, many of whom did not live to see its release.
